Meemaw refuses to help Sheldon in his time of crisis in Young Sheldon season 7, episode 4. After spending the last few episodes in Germany, the boy genius is finally back at home with Mary in this week’s episode. After the excitement over reuniting with the family wears off, however, Sheldon eventually realizes that things have changed in the Cooper household. He is forced to cope with the change, but although he tries to, it gets far too much for him to bear.

In the new Young Sheldon season 7, episode 4 promotional clips, Sheldon calls Meemaw to save him from his own house, but she refuses. Watch the video from Young Sheldon‘s official Instagram account below:

In the season 7 video, Sheldon is forced to sleep in the garage after Georgie and Mandy took over his bedroom while he was in Germany. The boy genius decides to call Meemaw in the middle of the night and asks her to pick him up, so he can stay with him. While Dale agrees, Coonie surprisingly turns down her Moonpie.

Can Young Sheldon Fix Meemaw And Sheldon’s Big Bang Theory Plot Hole?

Sheldon’s close bond with Meemaw was established in The Big Bang Theory, long before June Squibb’s version of the character appeared in the series. While Mary favored the boy genius over his siblings, Sheldon was quite smitten by her maternal grandmother. Young Sheldon used this as the foundation of their relationship, at least in the earlier seasons of the prequel. In recent years, however, the Young Sheldon characters have drifted apart, with Meemaw unexpectedly developing a strong bond with Georgie as they run their laundromat and illegal gambling den together. Mandy’s pregnancy also boosted their bond with each other.

Meemaw not running to save Sheldon in his time of crisis emphasizes how much their relationship has deteriorated.

Meemaw not running to save Sheldon in his time of crisis emphasizes how much their relationship has deteriorated. If anything, Connie should be more than happy to spend time with her grandson after he spent the whole summer overseas. If this is their dynamic moving forward, it raises the question of why Sheldon made it sound like Meemaw was still very close to him in The Big Bang TheoryUnless they reconnected in the years between Young Sheldon and its parent series, this detail now seems disputable.

Beyond his relationship with Meemaw, the clip proves yet again how annoying Sheldon has become in his own show. Mary previously admitted to this in her letters to George, and it seems like the character’s depiction will continue in Young Sheldon season 7, episode 4. Whether The Big Bang Theory prequel can still redeem its titular character before it ends is currently uncertain, however.
