We First Watched “The Nanny” in 1993, and Here’s What the Cast Looks Like Today
The Nanny was one of the funniest sitcoms of the 1990s and it’s considered a classic. But today, you may have forgotten how much time has passed since the show first aired. Our favorite actors from the show have done a lot since the last taping and it’s fun to see what they’ve been up to all these years.
We at Bright Side love this show so much that we’re sharing where its actors are now! Don’t forget to check out our bonus feature that proves the laughs just keep on coming!
Fran Fine / Fran Drescher
Maxwell Sheffield / Charles Shaughnessy
You could tell that Fran’s charming boss — and eventual husband — Maxwell Sheffield had feelings for her all along. After all, he kept her on as a nanny long after the kids actually needed one. Charles Shaughnessy still acts, appearing in television, film, theatre, and even video games. He’s also a British lord.
Sylvia Fine / Renée Taylor
Niles Butler / Daniel Davis
Maggie Sheffield / Nicholle Tom
Nicholle Tom was already a child-star when he appeared as Maggie, the eldest Sheffield child on The Nanny. In recent years, she’s found some success in TV movies like Rent-an-Elf and Ice Angel. She’s also made a name for herself as a voice actress, playing Supergirl in the DC animated universe.
Grace Sheffield / Madeline Zima
The neurotic, precocious Gracie was the youngest of the Sheffield children and was possibly the closest to Fran’s family, namely her grandmother, Yetta. The actress who played her, Madeline Zima, still appears in well-known shows like Californication and Heroes, and films such as A Cinderella Story.
C.C. Babcock / Lauren Lane
C.C. (whose name turned out to be short for “Chastity Claire”) was Fran’s scheming rival who wanted to sink her teeth into Maxwell, her business partner on Broadway. The woman who played her, Lauren Lane, was perfect for the role — she also has double initials! In recent years, she’s appeared in various theatre productions including Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.
Bonus: The cast and crew of The Nanny reunited for a table read on YouTube!
The original cast reunited years after the show ended for a table read of the first episode on the official Sony Pictures Entertainment YouTube channel. They even brought back Ann Hampton Callaway to sing the theme song. The special feature even has the stage directions read out loud, giving fans a peek of the behind-the-scenes action (apparently, the hopelessly single C.C. was originally supposed to be a divorcee).
