The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik reveals she missed out on Spider-Man role

The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik has revealed that she’s desperate to land a role in a superhero movie after missing out on playing a teacher in an undisclosed Spider-Man movie.

While she didn’t specify which Peter Parker picture she tried out for, the actor – who played Sheldon Cooper’s other half Amy Farrah Fowler on the hit sitcom – said that she’s “tried very hard” to become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or the Worlds of DC series over the years.

But even though her mission hasn’t proven successful so far, she’s hopeful that it will in the future.

“I’d like to believe that one day it might happen,” Bialik told Insider. “I’m past the young adult character, but I still think there might be a place for me. I’m a huge Marvel and DC person, but obviously DC is my Warner Bros. family. I’m pretty partial to that. ”

Both The Big Bang Theory and Bialik’s current show Call Me Kat, which is based on BBC outing Miranda, are produced by Warner Bros. TELEVISION. In 2019, she signed a multi-year deal with the broadcaster under her company, Sad Clown Productions, so it’s no surprise that she’d be keen to keep things in the family.

While two of her former co-stars, Melissa Rauch and Kaley Cuoco, have voiced animated versions of DC’s most iconic mischief maker Harley Quinn, Bialik reckons she’d be better equipped to play a goodie – or perhaps a baddie, even – that has more comedy leanings.
“I happen to be very athletic and many people have said ‘There’s a superhero in you’,” she noted. “So, you never know.”
