The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik has major throwback moment on Jeopardy!

The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik has been carving out a new career as the host of Jeopardy!, the long-running American quiz show, and the producers made sure to include a little Easter egg to her role on the geeky sitcom.

In last night’s (February 8) episode of Jeopardy! National College Championship, the second round featured a multitude of categories, one of which was ‘Fun with Flags’.

‘Fun with Flags’ was obviously the name of the web series that Sheldon Cooper set up to teach people about different flags of the world, which his partner Amy Farrah Fowler was eventually the co-host of.

Bialik didn’t reference the reference, we’re not sure if she didn’t notice it or didn’t want to point it out, but she did give us a bit of ‘Turn Down for What’ in the episode.

In fact, during the ‘Fun with Flags’ round, one of the clues was about the Oregon flag being double-sided, something that we are sure many of people didn’t know until The Big Bang Theory, making it an extra layer to the reference.

Jeopardy! doesn’t have a current full-time host after the death of Alex Trebek, with Bialik and Ken Jennings sharing the hosting duties until at least July of this year. What will happen then hasn’t been announced yet.

As well as this hosting gig, Bialik is also the lead star of the sitcom Call Me Kit, an American version of the BBC sitcom Miranda.

Jeopardy! airs on syndication in the United States, it sadly does not air in the United Kingdom. The Big Bang Theory aired on CBS in the US. You can buy the complete boxset now on DVD and Blu-ray.
