Good news for fans of The Office as two major cast members are soon set to reunite in a new project.

Steve Carell is well known for playing hilariously cringeworthy Dunder Mifflin regional manager Michael Scott in the US version of the hit comedy show. Starring alongside Carell in the mockumentary series was A Quiet Place’s John Krasinski, who took on the role of lovable prankster Jim Halpert.

The two actors will now join forces again, more than a decade after The Office drew to a close, in upcoming movie Imaginary Friends.

Chatting about the new film, Carell shared his excitement to team up with Krasinski once more.

“I haven’t started working on the film with him yet, but I can’t wait,” the actor told ET. “I’m anticipating just joy and fun. I mean, he’s the best, and he’s a great director.”

Krasinski will not only be starring in the film but is also taking on writing and directing duties, something Carell insists he’ll make the most of.

The comedy star jokingly suggested he could try to make Krasinski’s job as a director a little harder: “I’ll put him through his paces, you know? I’ll make him work for it.

“I might be one of those persnickety actors that doesn’t always agree or won’t come out of my trailer. You think you hired somebody that is a friend, but you got that wrong!”

Krasinski and Carell won’t be the only famous faces in Imaginary Friends as the upcoming movie has already announced a star-studded cast.

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds, Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Killing Eve actress Fiona Shaw are all set to star in the comedy film.

The project was originally announced in 2019 and is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2023, although an official release date has not yet been confirmed.
