Scarlett Johansson is about to say goodbye to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

After her own movie “Black Widow”, star Scarlett Johansson officially said goodbye to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Scarlett Johansson, 36, will no longer play Natasha Romanoff after the upcoming Black Widow movie, said in an interview on Good Morning America on June 28: “I’m bittersweet.”

Over the past decade, she views Marvel as family. She called it an incredible time and would miss everyone if she didn’t get to see them every 18 months or two years (Johansson’s filming schedule). The star sees these as milestones that she always looks forward to.

“I would feel proud of Black Widow and it would be great if the movie is highly appreciated. The work is very different from any Marvel project we have done. So, like I said, feeling The feeling right now is bittersweet,” Johansson expressed.

During the conversation, Johansson also shared her husband, Colin Jost’s reaction to his wife filming a superhero movie. The actress said that Jost was always silent and avoided hearing his wife’s revelations about any details in Black Widow.

“He wanted to be surprised, he didn’t even want to know who was on set with me.” Johansson added that Jost doesn’t like people prying into secrets that haven’t been made public.

In the near future, audiences will reunite with the character one last time in the solo film Black Widow, before the female superhero officially bids farewell to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The timeline in Black Widow takes place after the events of Captain America: Civil War and before Johansson’s character is killed in Avengers: Endgame. This is the 24th film in the series and the first phase 4 entry in the MCU.

The work was released in theaters on July 9 and released simultaneously on Disney + on the same day.
