Netflix: Every New TV Show & Movie This Weekend (December 14)

The holiday season is well and truly upon us, and there’s no shortage of new Netflix releases this weekend, starting December 14th, to help you celebrate. Last weekend brought talking animals and a battle for survival in Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, heartwarming comedy about family, friendships, and self-image in Dumplin’, and the return of Ashton Kutcher and Elisha Cuthbert in sitcom The Ranch.

This weekend sees Netflix bring back another family sitcom in the fourth season of Fuller House. There’s also awards season prestige in Alfonso Cuarón’s critically-acclaimed drama Roma, and Christmas gets a supernatural spin in holiday special The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale. Check out all these new Netflix releases and more in our handy guide below.

Roma

Alfonso Cuarón’s new drama Roma is believed to be a frontrunner for this year’s Oscars. Filmed in black and white, the film is set in Mexico City in the early 1970s and follows Cleo, the live-in maid and housekeeper to a middle-class family who are slowly unravelling. As Cleo observes the family’s troubles, she also has to deal with difficulties in her own life – and the escalating societal tensions that build towards the bloody Mexico City riots of 1971.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale

Our favorite teenage witch returns for a holiday special in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale. The weather outside may be frightful, but the things that lurk inside the Spellman family mortuary and the Academy of Unseen Arts are even more so. Fortunately, Sabrina can always call on her magic to protect herself and her friends from, say, an evil Santa Claus.

Fuller House Season 4

The Tanner/Fuller/Gibbler clan return for season 4 of Fuller House. This season the house is about to get even fuller, with Kimmy Gibbler heavily pregnant with Stephanie Tanner’s baby (or possibly babies, since there were three viable embryos). Meanwhile, D.J. and Steve decide to have another shot at dating, and Jackson Fuller is searching for a teen romance that actually means something.
