Fuller House Cast Reunites To Sing About Golden Retrievers

Mere months after Fuller House came to an end on Netflix, the cast and creator Jeff Franklin reunite to sing a sweet song about golden retrievers.

The core Fuller House cast reunites to sing a delightful song about golden retrievers. Yes, golden retrievers. The world of Fuller House first began in 1987 with the sitcom Full House. It centered on widower Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) who recruited his brother-in-law (John Stamos) and best friend (Dave Coulier) to help raise his three daughters. While it wasn’t exactly a critical darling, Full House was a hit among audiences and ran for eight seasons on ABC. It also helped launch the careers of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, as they both played the youngest Tanner, Michelle, for the entire show.

Fuller House premiered on Netflix years later in 2016, one of the many products of Hollywood’s reboot craze. This time around, it’s oldest daughter DJ (Candace Cameron Bure) who finds herself adrift following the death of her husband and calls in reinforcements. Fuller House provided the opportunity to bring back nearly every member of the original cast, save for the Olsen twins as Michelle. Much like its predecessor, it wasn’t a huge hit with the critics, but Netflix found success with Fuller House and kept it around for five seasons. The final one aired earlier this year in June.

Jeff Franklin, the creator of both Full House and Fuller House, has supplied the perfect spot of entertainment for fans missing the family-friendly comedies. He wrote a song titled “Gotta Love a Golden” in honor of his golden retrievers Woody and Lola, and he enlisted his Fuller House stars to help bring it to life. Those featured in the video include Saget, Stamos, Coulier, Bure, Jodie Sweetin (middle child Stephanie), and Andrea Barber (DJ’s best friend Kimmy). Check out the lighthearted video down below.

As Franklin notes at the end of the video, this is more than just a (virtual) Fuller House reunion. It’s also a call to action: Franklin suggests fans donate to PetSmart Charities and support their local pet adoption and rescue organizations. “Gotta Love a Golden” is also available for purchase, and all profits will go to PetSmart Charities.

This isn’t the first time a cast has reunited for a good cause, but this cause fits the Fuller House gang rather well. The Tanner family had a golden retriever of their own named Comet in Full House, and Comet’s descendants appeared in the reboot. The only thing that would make this video a bit more poignant is if either Olsen was involved, since Michelle had a sweet relationship with Comet. However, since neither of them was in Fuller House, their absence makes sense. Nevertheless, this is a fun treat for fans that will hopefully lead to some good for various pet charities.
