Friends Star Lisa Kudrow Joins Scandal for Season 3

Phoebe Buffay is going to Washington! Friends star Lisa Kudrow will join the third season of Scandal as a new recurring character, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

She’ll play a politician opposite Kerry Washington, who recently scored an Emmy nomination for her role as crisis fixer Olivia Pope on the D.C. drama.

Since Friends’ 10-year run ended in 2004, Kudrow has kept busy as an executive producer on TV shows like TLC’s celebrity ancestry series Who Do You Think You Are? She’s also currently producing and starring on the Showtime comedy Web Therapy, and has held small roles in 2007’s P.S. I Love You and 2010’s Easy A.
