SINCE Friends was released on Netflix, more and more fans are becoming desperate to see the group come back together – but will there ever be a Friends movie?

David Schwimmer is one of six people whose work in the TV series Friends changed the landscape of TV forever. Whether it was Ross and Rachel’s break, Monica wearing the Thanksgiving turkey or boys winning the girls’ apartment, there are countless moments which call for a reunion. But will there ever be the moment when all six friends return to Central Perk?

David Schwimmer says 'Friends' reunion finally ready to film
David Schwimmer, who played Ross Gellar on the sitcom, appeared on The Lateish Show in 2019, and told host Mo Gilligan abut whether a reunion is on the cards.

He said: “Well, no. I mean… no. I think we all feel it kind of ended in the perfect way.”

He is not the only one to have said something similar, with Matt LeBlanc, who played salami-guzzling Joey Tribbiani, echoing his viewpoints.

In 2018, LeBlanc said: “I understand that people really want to see that reunion but that show was about a finite period in those characters’ lives, between 20 and 30.

“To see what those characters are doing now, I think it’s almost a case of that the book is better than the movie. Everyone’s imagination of what they’re doing now is better.”

Along with him, Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, added: “That was about people in their twenties, thirties. The show isn’t about people in their forties, fifties.

“And if we have the same problems, that’s just sad.”

Of course, the friends have all given us a small version of a reunion, just not the now we may be hoping for.
