Fran Drescher recalled inviting Elton John to join “The Nanny” in a recent interview.

The 64-year-old actress admitted in an interview with USA Today that it took nearly two years to convince the musician to agree to a cameo.

“It took me a year or two to get him on the show. I’ve always been a supporter of the Elton John AIDS Foundation and we were very friendly at all of his events.” When his documentary ‘Tantrums & Tiaras’ came out, his agent said, ‘Maybe this would be a good time to put him in to promote the documentary.’”

Drescher further explained how they incorporated Elton John into the episode.

“There’s a scene (in the movie) where he gets angry because he’s trying to play tennis and a fan starts saying, ‘Yoo-hoo! Yoo-hoo!’ Yoo-hoo’ and gets into trouble when she gets a chance to meet him through Mr. Sheffield. It was a great episode and he couldn’t have been more charming.”

The “Happily Divorced” star revealed that the cast of “The Nanny” even filled the “Rocket Man” singer’s dressing room with his favorite flower.

“We heard he likes red roses so we filled his dressing room with red roses.”

Drescher previously shared her favorite episode after “The Nanny” was brought to the streaming platform HBO Max.

“The pilot is a great pilot, because you really want to go back and spend more time with these people you just met,” she said on the “Today” show.

“But they really don’t have enough funding. They didn’t want to give us all the money, so we kind of borrowed everything to do it and as soon as we were chosen, that’s when we did the animated opening.” That’s when we got the beautiful curved staircase and all that.”
