Everything you need to know about how ‘365 Days’ on Netflix ends

365 Days is just the latest phenomenon spreading across Netflix. The film is adapted from the book of the same name and tells the story of a young, beautiful girl kidnapped by a mafia boss. The mafia boss, Massimo, is so desperate to make Laura fall in love with him that he gives her 365 days to love him. Since its release, 365 Days has faced some backlash for this problematic premise.

The ending of ‘365 Days’ explains:
Laura begins the film resisting Massimo’s proposal, but as time passes, she finds herself falling in love with the mafia boss. When their year together ended, Laura committed to staying with Massimo and the two prepared for their wedding. In the final scene of the film, we get an ambiguous ending that leaves many fans of the film wondering whether Laura will survive.

In the film’s closing moments, Laura and her friend Olga are returning from a wedding shopping trip. When they return, Mario, one of Massimo’s men, begins to suspect that a rival gang is targeting Laura. Although Mario hastily told Massimo about his suspicions, by the time he found him, it was too late. The film ends with a police car parked outside a tunnel, suggesting that Laura may have been killed.

Does Laura die at the end of ‘365 Days’?
Everything is left unresolved in the film’s closing moments, and we never get a definitive answer to the question of whether Laura is dead or not. In that final moment, Massimo remembers the first time he saw Laura on a beach, which may indicate that he too believed she was dead. However, there are some compelling reasons to believe she may still be alive.

There may be a ‘365 Days’ sequel in the works.

One of the biggest reasons to believe that Laura is still alive is that this movie is based on a trilogy of books. If the film is successful, Netflix may be interested in producing sequels, and since the first film focused so much on Laura and Massimo’s relationship, the sequels may be as well. If she dies at the end of the first film, that would mean retconning the entire series.

Therefore, it is possible that Laura’s friend Olga was killed and Laura was instead kidnapped by Massimo’s enemies. That way, the next film in the series could deal with the fallout when Massimo tries to get Laura back.

Who can capture or kill Laura?
No details are provided on who specifically captured Laura, but Mario describes the gang as Massimo’s sworn enemies. Using context clues from earlier scenes in the film, we can guess that this gang may be the ones involved in his father’s death earlier in the film.

There’s even a part of the movie where Massimo sends Laura away while he takes care of unfinished business. When he returned, he had a wound in his chest, possibly stemming from his plan to take revenge on the crew who killed his father and leading to the creation of a new enemy.
