Chili’s lifts ban on ‘Office’ character Pam Beesly

The company lifted its 11-year-ban on “The Office” character on Tuesday, ensuring more “second drink” for her years to come.

In one of the show’s more famous scenes, a buzzed Beesly wins the Dundee Award for whitest sneakers. She famously proclaimed, “I feel God in this Chili’s tonight,” in her acceptance speech followed by an emphatic scream.

She was later kicked out of the Scranton, Penn., restaurant after falling off a barstool. The manager said Beesly was sneaking drinks. He added, “She is not welcome at this restaurant chain ever again.”

Beesly owes her Chili’s access to the actress who played Beesly, Jenna Fischer. On Monday, she tweeted a photo of herself in front of a Chili’s with the question, “Should I try to go in?” The next day, Chili’s issued a news release, announcing the ban was no longer.

“After reviewing the good conduct of Pam, I have decided to lift the now 11-year ban,” said President of Chili’s Kelli Valade. “Pam is an inspiration to many and we welcome her with open arms.”
