Bill Cosby ‘gets standing ovation’ at comedy show as he continues to deny sex abuse allegations

The comic has slammed the old claims as “absurd” and refused to comment further as a string of women accuse him of sexual abuse dating back years.

He stepped out to delight his fans on Thursday however, in his first public appearance since the claims resurfaced, and performed at Nassau’s Atlantis Resort.

Sat in front of the crowd in a grey jumper with the words “Hello Friend” emblazoned across the front, Cosby had the audience laughing from start to finish, and according to reports, even got a standing ovation at the end.

He ignored the sex abuse claims, reportedly not referencing them once.

The benefit was in aid of women’s volunteer service group The Links, Inc. and in a statement to Entertainment Tonight, the group explained its reasons for allowing Cosby to perform.

“The scheduling of Mr. Cosby to perform at the Nassau (Bahamas) Chapter’s fundraiser was done in good faith and in advance of the allegations coming to light,” National President Glenda Newell-Harris said. “As a women’s organization committed to uplifting and empowering women, The Links, Incorporated does not tolerate crimes against women.”

It comes as One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest actress Louisa Moritz recently spoke out to claim Cosby put his penis in her mouth in a dressing room before an appearance on the Tonight Show.
