Scarlett Johansson puts Cosmopolitan UK on the spot by calling her short

Scarlett Johansson has been known to get frustrated in interview moments. One in particular has left Johansson flustered, and that’s a strange comment about her height. Johansson admits that this happens to her all the time, with some members of the media thinking she’s taller than she actually is.

Johansson was disappointed when she was with Cosmopolitan after they revealed that she was shorter than expected.

Scarlett said, “‘Oh, you’re really short.’ I hear that a lot. [They say] ‘You’re a lot shorter than I thought.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, how can you say that to someone?’ It’s weird. Yeah. It’s, ‘You’re really short.’”

Scarlett Johansson revealed to Stephen Colbert that she agreed to appear in Marriage Story without reading a single line from the script.

Luckily for Johansson, the interview took a turn and didn’t focus on her actual height. Instead, she talked about the perks of being a mother.

“I’m so proud to be able to do that and I love being able to do that and being able to show my daughter that and have her come into the workplace and show her that I’m an independent woman who’s doing that — that’s very important to me.”

In fact, Johansson has admitted in other interviews that the pressure to look a certain way in Hollywood has always been a strain.

Scarlett Johansson Admits She Feels Pressure from Hollywood to Look a Certain Way
Scarlett Johansson has previously spoken about the pressure to be thin and body shaming in Hollywood. Johansson spoke to Candis Magazine about the pressure to stay thin for a role.

“There’s always pressure on actors to stay thin. There’s a scene in one of my favorite movies, ‘All About Eve,’ where Bette Davis is walking around the room, really upset about something, and she picks up a chocolate bar… puts it down… picks it up again… puts it down again… finally, she gives in and eats it, but only after a huge struggle!”

Scarlett Johansson felt “out of place” while filming with Bill Murray.
Johansson went on to admit that her goals have changed in recent years. Now, it’s more about being healthy than anything else.

“I want to maintain a weight that’s thin but healthy. But there’s a healthy way to maintain that weight and there’s an unhealthy way. I have no say in how other people choose to live their lives – but for me, I’m too paranoid about my own health to go down the eating disorder route. I’d rather stay fit naturally.”
