Canadian fans of beloved television show The Office, a mockumentary sitcom series that aired from 2005 to 2013, will get a chance to see what it was really like on set.

The Office Experience is an interactive event where “guests are invited to celebrate their favourite moments and characters,” according to its creators at Original X Productions. It’s making its international debut in Toronto on March 3, after appearing in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The show centres around Scranton, Pennsylvania paper company Dunder Mifflin, where a group of average yet remarkable (and hilarious) people work and share their lives on camera.

It dives deep into their everyday relationships, from the ongoing feud between two salesmen, the lovable Jim Halpert and the eccentric Dwight K. Shrute (played by John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson respectively), to the on-again-off-again rollercoaster of a relationship between Kelly Kapoor (Mindy Kaling) and temporary employee turned disgraced vice president of sales Ryan Howard (B.J. Novak), and boss Michael Scott’s (Steve Carrell) quest for love in some of the most unusual places (like at a blood drive or from a catalogue for office furniture).

The experience brings the Scranton Business Park to life. Fans can pick up the phone at Pam Beesly’s (Jenna Fischer) desk at reception where Jim was often seen hanging around or they can type away at Michael Scott’s computer in his office. And of course, strike a pose holding his “World’s Best Boss” mug.

Or, fans of Ryan Howard — self-proclaimed “wunderkind” — can sit at his tiny desk in the office’s kitchen closet.

There will also be a nod to some favourite moments, like Scranton’s most sought-after awards show, The Dundees, and accountant Kevin Malone’s infamous chilli spill.
