Fuller House: The 10 Most Emotional Moments From The Final Season

Fuller House: The 10 Most Emotional Moments From The Final Season

While Fuller House is all about the cheesy, sometimes cringeworthy, moments of hilarity, it’s also a pretty emotional show.

Like the original series Full House, Fuller House is full of emotional moments, even if they are paired with cheesy music and cringeworthy cheap laughs.

And the series sadly came to an end with its fifth and final season on Netflix. Following the story of eldest Tanner daughter who’s younger sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy move in to help her care for her three kids after the death of her husband (eerily similar to the situation with her father in the original), it provided a glimpse into the life of the kids decades later. So how did it all end? Here are some of the most emotional moments from the back half of the final season. (Naturally, spoilers ahead!)

DJ Finds The Special Occasion Suit

Before the wedding, DJ decided to sit down and talk to her kids about marrying Steve to make sure they were OK with it, especially after having lost their dad only a few years prior.

But the most emotional scene was when DJ was cleaning out her closet to make room for Steve’s clothes and found her husband’s old “special occasion” suit hiding in the back and it brought back a flood of emotions. The cherry on top was when, after seeing Jackson upset about her mom potentially getting rid of it, Steve had it tailored to fit Jackson.

The Nearlywed Game

While the game itself was hilarious with the kids reveling in the competitive nature of the adults who were plotting and scheming, the ending of it was enough to make your laugh and cry.

First, Fernando dressed like Kimmy to show his love for her. Then Jimmy recreated the “Love Shack” dance Stephanie did for a school performance as a child, complete with the late ’80s outfit. And then, Steve surprised DJ with not just one but two “I’m sorry” banners to show her how much he cared in a way she could appreciate.

Max Admitting To Not Fitting In At His New School

Max skipped a grade and went straight to middle school, which he was initially excited about. Until he came home after the first day and went straight up to his room to sulk. Next thing DJ knew, he was dressing and acting differently, wearing a backward cap and asking her to buy him sweatpants.

After a heart-to-heart typical of the series and its original, and an epiphany from Kimmy who knew all too well what it was like not to fit in, Max admitted that it was all because he was being made fun of. Using their own story of friendship, DJ and Kimmy urged him to be himself and eventually, a special friend would come along who truly understood him and appreciated him for his differences.

Stephanie’s Pep Talk To Ramona

Fuller House Season 2 Ramona Popko

It was a great moment when Stephanie gave Ramona the confidence to be herself. After discovering she had a hidden talent for consuming large amounts of food, Ramona was set to complete in Uncle Monty’s annual sandwich competition against the reigning champ.

But when she saw her boyfriend walk in, she got embarrassed about the idea of him seeing her scarfing down food. But Stephanie told her anyone who didn’t appreciate her for every aspect about her wasn’t worth it. Turns out he thought it was awesome!

Joey Finding Out Danny Didn’t Want Him To Move In At First

While Danny, Joey, and Jesse were stuck in the freezer at Uncle Monty’s after accidentally getting locked in, they started to reminisce about the girls now that they were both getting married. Danny talked about how appreciative he was that they both moved in to help him after his wife passed away.

Jesse let the cat out of the bag that Danny initially didn’t want Joey to move in because he was a comic with late hours. Joey got over his hurt feelings, however, when they told him they were glad he did and he became family.

Kimmy and Stephanie Announcing They’re Moving Out

Delivering a pie and donuts before revealing the news, both Stephanie and Kimmy simultaneously announced that after the triple wedding, they would be moving out. It was a sad moment, especially after the goodbye when DJ walked back into her empty house, face full of tears.

Equally emotional, however, was when they walked back in the door and asked to stay, with Stephanie also revealing that she was pregnant after having dealt with infertility issues.

Stephanie Realized She Doesn’t Remember Her Mom

While looking for “something borrowed” to wear at the wedding, DJ found her mom’s wedding veil tucked away. She urged Stephanie to wear it and when she showed Jimmy, he asked her to tell him about a great memory with her mom.

At this moment, Stephanie realized she couldn’t remember anything about her mom since she was only five when their mom passed. Thankfully, DJ knew what to do to help jog her memory.

When Jackson Told Ramona She’s Like His Sister

There were even touching moments between the kids. After Ramona revealed to Jackson that they will be moving out, he got a little sappy and told her that while he was initially upset when she first moved in (especially since it meant he lost his own room!) she had become like a sister to him.

Not only that, but he later pretended to be sick so that she could play the lead in the school play as a last hurrah before leaving. She was on to him, though, and urged him to stick with it because he deserved it.

The Wedding Speeches

Anyone who watched the original series was longing for a wedding between DJ and Steve, or at least to believe that they ended up together years down the road. But they didn’t. DJ married someone else and had three kids and Steve had a marriage that ended in divorce.

So it was sweet to see them finally get back together and pick up right where they left off, as well as to see Stephanie finally find happiness and for Kimmy and Fernando to find love and forgiveness.

Fernando and Max

Fernando and Max always acted like mortal enemies, with Fernando thinking Max was weird and Max looking down on Fernando. This all came to a head in an epic fencing battle between them.

But after winning and still looking upset, Fernando discovered that Max really loved him and would miss him. Fernando got so emotional that he put his fencing mask back on to hide his tears.
