Kat Dennings

It’s a common occurrence in Hollywood for actors and celebrities to change their birth names. Although their reasoning is never the same. For example, Lady Gaga chose her stage in an attempt to reinvent herself. And Nicolas Cage changed his last name to prevent people from assuming his success was a result of nepotism because he was director Francis Ford Coppola’s nephew.

How Kat Dennings' Role On Sex And The City Changed Her Career
You probably know Kat Dennings best for her role in the MCU. In the last decade, Dennings has portrayed Darcy Lewis in Thor, Thor: The Dark World, WandaVision, and Thor: Love and Thunder. But, in reality, her career is so much more than that.

Dennings has been professionally acting since the early 2000s. She made her professional debut by appearing on an episode of HBO’s Sex and the City series in 2000, where she played an obnoxious 13-year-old who hires Samantha to handle the publicity for her bat mitzvah.

She then starred in the short-lived sitcom Raising Dad alongside Bob Saget and Brie Larson. And in 2002, Dennings appeared in the made-for-TV Disney movie The Scream Team.

Two years later, Dennings made her feature film debut in Hilary Duff’s Raise Your Voice (2004). Following this role, she began landing more supporting roles in other movies such as 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Big Momma’s House 2 (2006), and The House Bunny (2008).

In 2011, Dennings was cast in the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls alongside Beth Behrs. Dennings took this role because she liked the idea of reaching a wider audience with her work. Unfortunately, CBS ended up canceling the series in 2017 after only six seasons.
