“They Don’t Really Care”: Fuller House Star’s Kids Didn’t Watch Netflix Spinoff

Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, reveals her kids’ unfortunate reaction to the Netflix Full House spin-off sequel.

Fuller House star Jodie Sweetin reveals that her kids don’t care about the Full House spin-off. In 2016, Netflix brought back the family sitcom’s core cast to the iconic San Francisco home, including Sweetin, who reprised her role as the middle Tanner daughter. Despite Fuller House’s popularity, ultimately running for five seasons, Sweetin reveals that her daughters aren’t exactly fans of the show.

In a new interview with Today.com, she reveals that her kids, Zoie Herpin, 15, and Beatrix Coyle, 12, don’t care about the show. Read her full quote below:

“They don’t really care. I mean they’ve watched it before, they used to come to tapings, but at the end of the day, it’s mom. They’re not really that impressed. People want to raise mini versions of themselves. I just try and remember, ‘This is your own journey and I’m just here to help.’ I’m just here to allow them to figure out life on their own and be kind of the bumper rails for it. We have fun together. They trust me. We have a really open relationship. I’m really grateful for that.”

Will Fuller House Season 6 Happen?

It has been several years since Fuller House ended, but there are still persistent calls to see more of the Tanners on the small screen. Dave Coulier, who played Joey in both the original and revival series, has said that he’s in favor of revisiting the franchise despite the untimely death of Bob Saget. Unfortunately, John Stamos has a different take on the matter, saying he isn’t open to the idea after their beloved co-star’s demise.

As for Sweetin, she has been pushing for a The Golden Girls-inspired Full House spin-off. The idea is interesting, but considering the timeline, it may take at least two decades before something like it can finally happen. She has yet to say anything about a revival in the near future, despite her supposed falling out with co-star Candace Cameron-Bure.

The lack of an available platform for the proposed project is currently the endeavor’s biggest issue. Once a network or a streaming service expresses interest, it will be easier to convince some, if not all of the cast, to return for a Fuller House follow-up. Perhaps, the new show may even be about honoring Saget’s legacy as Danny Tanner.
