There is a slight anomaly occurring with the promotional process of the movie Fifty Shades Freed. Even though the female author of the original novel – E.L. James – is British, the producers decided not to hold a press conference for the film in the land of the mists.
This is to prevent the comments of British critics from affecting ticket sales. The premiere was only held in Paris (France) with the participation of a number of journalists from Europe.
Busy with tricks, the production unit of Fifty Shades Freed did not think about the most important factor: quality is what decides everything. And the final part of this franchise series makes even the most easy-going people… groan.
Meanwhile, the writer of The Hollywood Reporter gently mentioned: “As one of the worst and most controversial film franchises in recent times, Fifty Shades Freed ended it all with one The result did not meet expectations”. Another article was more grumpy: “Fifty Shades Freed is really a combination of stuffing to cover up fake profundity, and a pile of old garbage so unbelievable.” Currently, on the rating site Rotten Tomatoes, the film only reaches the 6/100 mark and is one of the most disastrous films of the year.
One of the biggest “flaws” of the film that made international critics “cry” was the characters’ absurd conversations.
There are also some comments like: “She’s like a pure devil”, “He has a hotline between my legs”, “I’m seriously thinking about marrying you. Then we can get to know each other later”, “He is a special lover – although, of course, I have nothing to compare it to”…
Besides, Australia’s Filmink newspaper added: “To be fair, this part is much better than the first part, like it’s better to die by being shot in the head than being slowly tortured.”
Regarding acting, Jordan Mintzer called the two main actors Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson “one of the blandest couples on screen”.
In an interview with ITV, the 35-year-old actor admitted that he was too old to play the 27-year-old billionaire and implicitly announced that the film had ended after 3 parts. “There’s no more books left. We’ve finished three parts… unless Erica wants to write more… but I know I’m too old for this.”
On the show “Conversation with Ellen”, Jamie revealed that his wife, Amelia, has not yet watched any episodes of the steamy franchise series in which her handsome husband stars.
Despite less than positive reviews, part 3 of the 50 Shades of Gray franchise is expected to be a commercial success. The first two films, Fifty Shades of Gray and Fifty Shades Darker, were also panned by critics but still regularly earned more than $900 million in ticket sales.
The Fifty Shades film series is adapted from the 3-volume novel series titled Fifty Shades of Gray by author E.L. James. The content revolves around the sensual relationship between Anatasia Steele, a female graduate student, and her lover, a sadistic billionaire named Christian Gray.
The intense sexual details and twisted love story have helped the novel quickly enter the list of best-selling works in the world with more than 125 million copies. Despite receiving many criticisms, 50 Shades still proudly set a record as the best-selling paperback book series of all time in the UK.
With the effect from the book, the first episode was produced and released to the audience in 2015. The second episode was released in 2017 and also achieved commercial success.
