No kidding: All six seasons of ‘The Nanny’ will stream on HBO Max starting April 1

“The flashy girl from Flushing, the nanny named Fran” will be on repeat for a new generation of fans when HBO Max begins airing all six seasons of the 90s sitcom “ The Nanny” begins Thursday, April 1.

In an Instagram video, series co-creator and star Fran Drescher (Fran Fine) shared the news with her more than half a million followers saying, “Oh my God! Finally, ‘The Nanny’ is streaming on a great streaming channel. So make sure you mark your calendars because starting April 1, you’ll be able to watch all of your favorite ‘The Nanny’ episodes on HBO Max.” While blowing a kiss to her fans at the end of the video, she added: “Go, why don’t you?”

Airing on CBS from 1993 to 1999, “The Nanny” was a hot bed for soap star appearances. Not only does the show star the likes of “Days of our Lives” Charles Shaughnessy (ex-Shane Donovan) as Broadway producer Maxwell Sheffield, who hires Fran to babysit his three children, the show also has appearances by Eric Braeden, Melody Thomas Scott and Joshua Morrow of “The Young and the Restless,” among the countless soap actors who crossed the threshold of the Sheffield mansion. In fact, a memorable episode recently published on the show’s YouTube channel included Paolo Seganti (ex-Damian Grimaldi) of “As The World Turns” as Felipe, a French tutor who only flirts Fran to make a move on C.C. Babcock (Lauren Lane).

Other former soap stars appearing on the show include Hunter Tylo, Barbara Crampton, Brenda Epperson, Ian Buchanan, Lane Davies, Sean Kanan, Lesley-Anne Down and Corbin Bernsen, among others.

Fun fact: Nicholle Tom, who plays Maggie Sheffield on the comedy series, is the younger sister of Heather Tom (Katie Logan) on “The Bold and the Beautiful.”
