Fans of The Nanny were beyond excited when the ’90s sitcom finally arrived on HBO Max. And whether you watched the show in its heyday for Fran Drescher’s iconic nasal voice or the dynamic between her character and her wealthy, high-society New York City family, There are still some genuinely funny moments. Of course, it’s hard not to wonder about the children in The Nanny and where they are now.
Fran plays a woman who falls into the role of babysitter for three children whose mother has died and whose father, Maxwell Sheffield, is a stodgy British Broadway performer. After many seasons of back and forth between Fran and Maxwell, they are finally together and even have twin children. But Maxwell’s older children are the ones the audience watches grow up in the series.
As the oldest child, Maggie, played by Nicholle Tom, begins to appear shy and reserved. But with Fran as her nanny, she can come out of her shell.
After The Nanny ended, Nicholle tried to continue her career in television and film, and found voice-over work. She voiced characters in the animated shows Justice League Unlimited and Superman: The Animated Series.
Nicholle also participates in various conventions for fans of her work, including, of course, her role in The Nanny. She’s also had small parts on TV shows like Masters of Sex, Gotham and Burn Notice. And, according to Instagram, she also has a YouTube channel dedicated to clips of her various movie and TV roles over the years.
Benjamin Salisbury (Brighton Sheffield) is no longer in the public eye these days.
Benjamin plays Brighton, the middle child in the family, who often causes trouble with the children. In real life, after The Nanny ended, Benjamin almost left behind acting in television series and movies. He starred in the 2003 TV series Red Zone and the 2006 short film On The Brink, but that’s when his on-screen work declined.
However, he also graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. For the most part, however, it seems like Benjamin has given up on acting and chosen a life out of the spotlight. Before his success with The Nanny, he did stage work, so it’s likely that Benjamin returned to the stage instead of working in front of the camera as an adult.
Madeline plays Grace, the youngest and arguably most adorable child in The Nanny. However, after the show ended, Madeline took on roles that showed how much she had matured, such as playing a precocious 16-year-old girl in Californication. She also starred in the NBC drama Heroes and will next star in the crime drama Marzipan.
