Watch Fran Drescher Handle a Wardrobe Malfunction Like a Pro on the SAG Awards Red Carpet

Drescher smiled as she deftly caught her earring while posing for photos on Saturday
Fran Drescher handled a wardrobe malfunction in what may have been record time at Saturday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards!
While on the event’s red carpet over the weekend, The Nanny alum was seen on video thinking fast when one of her earrings took a tumble.

During the annual celebration, 66-year-old Drescher rocked a stunning red gown and matching long earrings, one of which fell off her ear as she posed for photos. But, thanks to the actor’s fast reflexes, she caught the jewelry and put it back in her earlobe in under 10 seconds — all while still smiling for the cameras.

“Wait, oh my God,” Drescher said as she reapplied the earring, before striking more poses. “OK, here we go.”
During the SAG Awards, Drescher wore a Reem Acra gown, per Women’s Wear Daily, covered in red sequins and with a slit to her thigh that was covered by red lace. She also rocked the ruby drop earrings and a gold choker from Kazanjian Jewels, and tied it all in with a sparkly ruby purse.
The actress, who has been known to sport iconic red carpet looks over the years, caught up with PEOPLE about the SAG-AFTRA strike on the red carpet.
The labor union president — who has held the position since 2022 — revealed during PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly’s Red Carpet Livestream that she felt “victorious” after such a busy year, calling the award show “the cherry on the whipped cream.”
“We’re here, we’re all together, we’re celebrating who we are… It’s really a crescendo to what really was a stressful and difficult period, but a seminal one and a turning point I think for the SAG-AFTRA members,” she said of the union getting a contract through in November and successfully putting an end to its four-month strike.

“I gave them the permission to have an ego for themselves, to appreciate that they are the center of the wheels in this industry. That it can’t be done without them, they’re foundational contributors, they’re better than what they’re doing to us, and it’s a time of reckoning,” she added of how she helped “buoy” union members. “Everybody has to come to the table and accept that this is a turning point — and a seminal contract was required.”

Elsewhere on Saturday night, Drescher appeared on the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall stage in Los Angeles and offered a “congratulations” to members, sharing that she holds them in the “highest esteem and greatest respect.”

“You survived the longest strike in our union’s history with courage and conviction,” she said. “The journey was arduous. It came with great sacrifice and unrelenting stress. Your collective dignity and perseverance to stand up and say, ‘We deserve better because we are better,’ resulted in a historic billion-dollar deal.”

“Your solidarity ignited workers around the world, triggering what will forever be remembered as the hot labor summer. You took the hero’s journey and stood at the frontlines… You understood what our massive contribution means to this marvelous industry.”
