Kat Dennings has landed the starring role of a brand new sitcom which comes from one of the writers of the acclaimed Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Nearly one year after 2 Broke Girls was axed, the actress is signing up for a workplace ensemble comedy which is based on the book How May We Hate You?, reports Deadline.

From Justin Noble (who has worked on Brooklyn Nine-Nine since 2015), the ABC pilot follows “two guest-services associates at a high-end resort and the co-workers and guests they’re stuck with for eight to 16 hours a day”.

Dennings – described as one of the most in-demand stars available this pilot season – is playing Ellie, one of the associates at the hotel.

2 Broke Girls ran for six seasons between 2011 and 2017, and at the time of its cancellation Dennings released a joint-message with co-star Beth Behrs thanking the fans for their support over the years.

Aside from her TV work, Dennings has featured in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, portraying Darcy Lewis (friend of Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster) in the first two Thor movies.
